Is using a citation generator considered cheating?
No. Citation formatting is clerical work, and universities supply these tools themselves through their libraries and reference managers. Academic integrity is about whether you genuinely read and understood the source you cite, and whether the ideas you present as your own are your own — not about whether software formatted the punctuation in your bibliography.

- Are these tools really free?
- Yes — unlimited use, no account, no card, no watermark. They exist because they are genuinely useful, and because students who find our free tools sometimes become tutoring clients later. That is the whole model.
- Is my text stored or uploaded?
- No. The writing checker, word counter and maths solvers all run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device and we never see it.
- Is using a citation generator cheating?
- No. Citation formatting is clerical work, and universities provide these tools themselves through their libraries. What matters academically is that you actually read and understood the source you are citing.
- Can I trust the output?
- Check it against your own institution's guide. Referencing styles have institutional variants — 'Harvard' alone has several — and no generator can know which one your department publishes.
